The project in Austin has brought together a powerhouse of a team; great enthusiasm and commitment from the outset. As we work together I am delighted by the amazing skills of this group. The team includes Masters students from a range of Theatre Arts programmes in UT, Austin, counselors working in a student support team, Faculty staff and us, the UK contingent.
Over the last two days the team have shared their personal stories, their artistic expertise and their own quirky take on what we are doing.
The Patchwork Stories quest is to find out what it takes to turn towards each other rather than away. As travelers on this quest we are putting this into action; sharing our big questions and listening with grace to the wisdom in each other’s experiences.
Whilst the quest for stories from our communities continues, the production team is exploring ideas for the aesthetic of the installation. Already, after one meeting, ideas are bouncing into the air and I am excited to watch which ones land and take root.
