It's been an odd two months since the degree show opened and my time at MMU came to an end. Almost everything in my life has changed; where I live, who I live with, what I do everyday. On the whole they are all very positive changes, but it's a hard time, full of adjustments and new things.
Immediately after the degree show I went down to Devon with Ting for Patchwork Stories 2016, it was two weeks filled absolutely to the brim with creatively, connection and community. I'm in the process of updating the Patchwork Stories website and I'll post about that here when it's done. Since then I have been focusing on moving house and getting other areas of my life sorted and haven't really made anything or done any proper work.
I'm feeling really excited and hopeful about the opportunities and possibilities that this residency is giving me.The break from work has been really good and now, I can't wait to leap straight into being a real life artist. I have so many plans and ideas for Patchwork Stories, Built on Stories and my making.
Coming up in the next two months I am working at the Whitworth quite a bit, running a session for the Early Years Atelier, then Built on Stories is running a week of summer family sessions, next Patchwork Stories is travelling to Seville to speak at the International Health Humanities Conference, in September I am continuing my collaboration with Isobel Ripley and throughout it all I am going to be weaving, writing and seeing what happens!
