On Friday 27th March I was able to attend their latest event. It was called 'Ideas without Frontiers' and explored how we can push ideas to be the biggest they can be through the focus of four topics. These were 'Seeking Hope', 'Changing Technologies', 'Caring for Health' and 'Our precious Planet'. Each section had between four and six speakers who spoke for 10 minutes, before the day started I had expected to be inspired by maybe one talk from each section and for there to be times when I was a bit bored. I was blown away with each and every speaker!
There was the Maths student/Slam Poet, who performed poems about Prime Numbers, paper people and the Sunshine Kid. The English Professor who saw the world change on a bus with an angry baby. The robotics fanatic who is working to reduce the cost of a prosthetic hand from $18,000 to under $1,000. The Mother of triplets who was in the first all female team to walk to both the North and South poles. They were all inspiring in their own way and every single speaker had a story.
One day I want to speak at a TED conference. *
